Faulk makes the team

Today NHL.com announced the 2011 – 2012 All Star roster. The Carolina Hurricanes have no veteran players on the main roster, yet 19 year old Justin Faulk was named as an All – Star rookie. This is the second year in a row that the Hurricanes have player named to the All – Star rookie team (last year Jamie McBain was on the list.)

Here is a brief bio on Faulk:

The Hurricanes drafted the 6? 0” 200 pound American born defenseman in the second round (37th overall) of the 2010 NHL entry draft.

Before Faulk got to the Hurricanes (or even the Charlotte Checkers) as a freshmen with the Minnesota-Duluth  Bulldogs Justin Faulk scored eight goals and had 25 assists, which led all Bulldogs defensemen in both statistical categories. He was also in the top five on the Bulldogs roster in terms of overall points (not to bad when you consider it was his first year.) Faulk finished the year with the Bulldogs and helped them win their first National Title beating Michigan.
