Mavericks Vs. Celtics: Dirk Nowitzki Hits Go-Ahead Bucket As Dallas Wins 90-85

Dirk Nowitzki hit the go-ahead bucket on Wednesday night as the Dallas Mavericks turned aside the Boston Celtics in the fourth quarter to hang on for a 90-85 win. Tied at 85 after Paul Pierce hit a three with 25 seconds to go, Nowitzki went up strong, absorbing contact, converting the lay-in and making the ensuing free throw to put the Mavs on top for good.
Boston had a chance to tie on its next possession, but Rajon Rondo’s pass didn’t find the mark as the Celtics never got a shot off. Jason Terry sealed the game, making a lay-in off a Brian Cardinal assist with just two seconds to go.
