On Sunday Steve Conroy (who’s a columnist for the Boston Herald) speculated on what players the defending Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins may add at (or before) the upcoming NHL trade deadline, for what will conceivably be another deep playoff run. Mr. Conroy suggests that Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli may want to add the Hurricanes defenseman Tim Gleason.

Mr. Chiarelli has stated that he’s open to moving his 2012 first round draft pick:“Where we are right now, with what the depth of the draft is, I certainly wouldn’t rule that out (trading his first-round pick). A late first rounder’s like a second-rounder. We’ve got prospects coming, too” and Mr. Steve Conroy believes that would be enough to land Gleason from the Hurricanes.

Gleason has been linked to the Philadelphia Flyers in recent weeks, so it is possible that these two teams [Bruins and Flyers] could keep outbidding each other to obtain the services of Tim Gleason (which would be the best case scenario for the Hurricanes.)
