A Trade is Made and Roster moves 01/18/12

It’s official, the Hurricanes have made a trade! – Unfortunately this deal doesn’t include any of the names we’ve seen mentioned over the past few weeks. The deal involves forwards Evgenii Dadonov and AJ Jenks heading from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forwards Jon Matsumoto and Mattias Lindstrom.

Hurricanes lose –

Jon Matsumoto, 25, was drafted in the 3rd round (76th overall) of the 2006 NHL entry draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. The Hurricanes acquired Matsumoto in 2010 for that years 7th round draft pick. Matsumoto spent most of his time as a member of the Charlotte Checkers where he played 106 games; scoring 33 goals and picking up 49 assists. This season he led all Checkers in points with 34 in 41 games played, he was named to the AHL All – Star game because of this. Matsumoto played 13 games with the Hurricanes and picked up two goals.
