Philadelphia Flyers beat reporter Sam Carchidi recently reported that the Flyers may target Hurricanes defenseman Bryan Allen – now that Tim Gleason is off the block.

Allen, a rugged 6-foot-5, 226-pounder, is on the Flyers’ radar, according to a league source. He would have to waive a no-trade clause in order to be dealt.

A lot of people may not see Allen as a “sexy” addition as he rarely gets talked about, but he’s ninth in the league for Blocked Shots, is fifth on the Hurricanes roster (second among defenseman) in hits, and averaging almost 19minutes a game Bryan Allen provides enough good qualities for a team looking to add a depth defenseman.
