Tateristory: 1994 Kansas @ Missouri

With the matchup on Saturday of the Kansas Jayhawks @ Missouri Tigers at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, MO. We take this installment of Tateristory back to 1994 between these two conference rivals. Although the “rivalry” has been more one sided with the Jayhawks holding a 171-94 advantage in its history, the Tigers are having one of their best seasons ever to date. Their first ever meeting took place on March 11, 1907 with a Missouri victory 34-31 played in Columbia. Coming into this 1994 matchup Missouri had lost 6 straight in the series with the last win on February 13, 1990 at Phog Allen Fieldhouse when Kansas was #1 in AP Poll and Missouri was #2. For this 1994 classic Missouri was ranked #20 and the Jayhawks #3. Missouri however came into the contest with a one game lead in the Big 8 Conference with a 5-0 record against 2nd place Kansas at 4-1.
