Thursday’s “The Stack” is once again talking plenty of college basketball. More bids were awarded last night and more are up for grabs tonight. Plus more tournaments get under way today. We’ll have some of the other big news from Wednesday as well so let’s get right to it and see what made “the stack” for today, Thursday March 8:
1. Long Island, Lehigh and Montana all claim their bids.
In the NEC championship, Long Island made quick work of Robert Morris, winning 90-73. It is the second straight year the Blackbirds have made it to the NCAA tournament. Last year they had to beat the same Robert Morris team to make it to the dance, this year regulation was all it took. Good for Long Island, but they won’t be winning a game in the tournament.
In the Patriot League championship, Lehigh was able outlast a pesky Bucknell team 82-77 to make it back to the Big Dance. The Patriot League was not overly impressive, so it is highly unlikely that Lehigh will win a game, but it’s great for the students and fans of the university.
