East Coast Cane: Top flight forwards

As a Carolina Hurricane fan I have come to be apprehensive around the NHL free agency period rolls around, and for good reason.

On July 1st, 2010, the Carolina Hurricanes were forced to let Ray “the Wizard” Whitney go into the free agent market, because the budget conscious team couldn’t justify paying him what he could (and would) get on the open market. Whitney signed with the Phoenix Coyotes, and in 157 regular season games in the desert he has put up 134 points and has been able to play in the post season in each year. I would like to point out that no Carolina Hurricane player except Eric Staal has put up 134+ points in the same amount of time.
