For many of you, “SJ” means the forums. That’s okay as we established the forums as the root…the flagship “Starship SJ” of a greater cadre of creative adventures. Yes…The original vision of SJ as “The Disneyland of Sports fan sites” has been shrunk, but its essence is still an achievable dream.
That dream in the metaphoric form of our virtual 4-year-old “child” is quietly but powerfully growing. Our social network of Jabberheads is over TWELVE times larger than our cherished 1,027-member forum family. Our home platform (blog articles, Mock Draft Database, et al) has close to 300 direct interactive subscriber-Jabberheads and reaches another 60,000+ readers on a non-interactive basis…not including our social networks.
The Winds of Change…
The Maid & Janitor, separately & together (mostly) have been managing forums for over 13 years. It’s worn us down, but we take great, but humble pride that we operate successful forums while many others have fallen & are falling by the wayside. We also have respective other new life priorities. Yet we also both still love sports & sports fan sites, especially the aspects of marketing and interaction.
So, to meet the aforementioned parameters, the two of us must significantly dial down our direct involvement in the forums. Our “child” will grow up and we will directly nurture it, but do so mainly among our social networks, marketing channels & yet-to-be-created-venues…the approximately MIGHTY 75,000+, with a plethora of willing potential additions.
