SBRForum.com: Greenbay Packers at San Diego for Week 9 Preseason Game

There’s a mixed bag of emotions here for the upcoming Greenbay Packers vs. San Diego on Thursday night. This might be preseason but emotions are running high with the Green Bay Packers being considered as the favorite while the San Diego chargers seem to be trailing behind after an irksome fumble by Philip Rivers against the Kansas City Chiefs, but who’s really the underdog here?

Green Bay Packers
We’ll get started with the Green Bay Packers who have been in the lead as far as NFL picks go. Thanks to our very own Craig Tattan from SBR Forum, he was able to clear up a few things for us. He claims that Aaron Rodgers has plenty of speed at his disposal with Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, James Jones and a versatile Randall Cobb. Donald Driver may no longer be considered a favorite after his performance has fallen by the wayside in the last two seasons.

He also claims that the Packers veteran starters including Aaron Rodgers will not be playing half the game due to the coaches not wanted their stars to overplay and risk getting injured. Someone to look out for will be undrafted quarterback Graham Harell as he is the unexpected wild card in this game.

San Diego Chargers

We continue with Phillip Rivers who isn’t the strongest of passers such as Rodgers but talented enough to be kept in the game. Tattan continues, “San Diego has many sins to atone for and don’t think head coach Norv Turner doesn’t want a win in a hurry.”

The reports on Melvin Ingram are positive but then again it is very early. Tattan claims that, Ingram was the chargers first round pick and the Chargers are hoping he can bolster a woeful pass rush.

The Pick

In this case, many of the sportsbooks including Matchbook, are gearing for the Chargers to be the favorite, but apparently early betting action has caused the lines to shift a bit more in favor of San Diego. The Chargers are listed at -2.5, with a total offered at 37.
