After being dismissed by LSU for violating the team’s substance abuse policy for the third time, cornerback Tyrann Mathieu will be weighing his options on what to do next.
He can play for an FCS school and start right away or play for an FBS school, but he will have to wait a year.
Former Tigers kicker Josh Jasper caused the Internet to jump when he tweeted that the Honey Badger will be heading to McNeese State. Although Mathieu did meet with the university, he left without commitment, according to ESPN.com.
“It’s very important for both us and Tyrann to make the right decision and Tyrann agreed,” says McNeese State coach Matt Viator said. “It was a long day. We both needed to back off a bit and make the best decision. Especially him. He needs to catch his breath and make sure he makes the right decision.”
