Juan Nunez, an associate of suspended San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera, has been banned from all Major League Baseball clubhouses by Commissioner Bud Selig. MLB executive vice president Rob Manfred issued a memorandum to team management and owners across the league notifying them of the action on Tuesday.
Nunez is a consultant for Cabrera’s agents at ACES Inc. and he took responsibility for fabricating the website that Cabrera tried to use as proof he had unknowingly taken a tainted substance. Cabrera was preparing to challenge a positive test for elevated testosterone levels when his ruse was discovered by Major League Baseball. He has since been suspended for 50 games.
