It was reported Monday that Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan told star running back Maurice Jones-Drew that he needed to “get on the train” before it leaves him. Well, Jones-Drew may not even want a ticket.
ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Pro Bowl running back is open to being traded. Jones-Drew and his people suggest that this holdout could last into the regular season.
I’m not sure if this is a battle the running back can win at this point. Even though he is special, running backs are no longer the premium in today’s NFL. If MJD were a quarterback, this would be a different conversation.
