A young man who testified against Jerry Sandusky during his trial is now suing Penn State for its role in covering up and ignoring warning signs related to the former assistant football coach.
The lawsuit was filed by the person referred to as “Victim 1? at the trial, and alleges the university was “deliberate and shameful” in its handling of the evidence it was given that Sandusky behaved inappropriately and sexually towards boys.
It further states that university officials made deliberate decisions not to report Sandusky to authorities as a result of its “economic self-interests, and to its interest in maintaining and perpetuating its reputation.”
