SBRForum.com: NFL Betting Preview: The Final Weekend of Faux Ball

The NFL exhibition season comes to an end this week with three games Wednesday night and 13 games Thursday. And while most teams are likely to play their starters very little this week, there are still jobs up for grabs, which can lead to some interesting football.

Here’s a quick look at some of Week 4′s more interesting games, and some NFL odds to ponder.

Wednesday night gives us a rematch, of sorts, of last February’s Super Bowl as the New York Giants host the New England Patriots. Also, Robert Griffin III gets his final warm-up game as his Washington Redskins host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And the Miami Dolphins with rookie QB Ryan Tannehill visit the Dallas Cowboys.

As of Wednesday AM the ‘Skins are favored by four points over the Bucs; the G-Men are getting a point and a half from the Pats; and the Pokes are favored by two points over the Fish.

Thursday the Eagles, who got good performances out of their back-up quarterbacks last week vs. Cleveland, host the Jets, who haven’t scored a touchdown yet this pre-season; the Steelers host the Panthers; the Colts and Andrew Luck get one more warmup, as they host the Bengals; the Lions host the Bills; the Saints take a trip to Tennessee; the Packers host the only team that beat them during the regular season last year, the Chiefs; in an all-California bout the 49ers host the Chargers; in an old AFC West rivalry match the Raiders visit Seattle; and Peyton Manning, in his final warmup, leads his Broncos against the Cardinals in Phoenix.

According to the NFL odds board, the Philadelphia Eagles are favored by five points over the J-E-T-S; Pittsburgh is giving Carolina 3.5 points; Indy is favored by a field goal over Cincy; Detroit is favored by four points over Buffalo; New Orleans is getting 3.5 points from the Titans; Green Bay and KC are a pick ‘em; the Niners are favored by three points over the Bolts; the Seahawks with rookie QB Russell Wilson are chalked at 6.5 points over Oakland; and Arizona is favored by two points over Denver.
