The No.2 ranked Toronto Triumph travel into Regina, Saskatchewan to take on a very dangerous No.3 ranked Regina Rage team. The Rage kept pace with the No.1 ranked BC Angels up to halftime on opening night of LFL Canada, however being grossly out-coached and out-prepared showed in the 2nd half as BC pulled away and beat Regina 41-18.
Following opening night, Regina’s 2nd coaching staff in the same season was fired and now the team has become the LFL’s first-ever player coached team with US All-Star Quarterback Nikki Johnson becoming the Offensive Coordinator while US All-Star Defensive End Tessa Barrera being named the Defensive Coordinator. Johnson and Barrera were already calling the game in the season opener as the incompetence of the existing coaching staff became evident.
