The Stack is dominated by officials and the amazingly wrong call that gave the Seattle Seahawks a win last night. We also have power rankings. Nothing else. Nothing else matters. We’ll try to get to that on Wednesday. Let’s get right to it and see what made “the stack” for today, Tuesday, September 25:
Seahawks outlast Packers in the most controversial ending in recent memory
Listen, you’ve heard it all. I don’t need to regurgitate all of what you’ve seen on the Twitter sphere though this is pretty good. So is this video. Bottomline, the refs royally screwed this game up. How can you call that last play a touchdown when Green Bay clearly had possession of the ball? This was such a poorly officiated game from start to finish. 24 accepted penalties. Over 200 penalty yards. A kicking ball on the two-point conversion that the Packers failed to convert. A terrible pass interference penalty. This game was an abomination and yet, the NFL won’t do a damn thing about it. The locked out refs will continue to be locked out unless the owners say, “boy, we need to do something before this happens to one of us.” We were all waiting for that moment, that game that would be defined by inadequate officials who are not used to the speed and rules of the game. And it only took til the final game of week 3 to reach that point.
