Desperation for one, respect for the other. If you asked if BC or Toronto would be in either of these positions at the halfway point of the season, many would have guessed BC being the team in desperation while Toronto be in the heat of a championship run.
Fast-forward, BC is actually in the midst of a late-season run to advance to the first-ever Canadian Lingerie Bowl while Toronto is still in search of the franchise’s first-ever win.
For BC they are staring up at the 2-0 Saskatoon Sirens and tied with the Regina Rage 1-1 having the head-to-head edge over Regina. BC is a well-coached team yet has been a rather Jekyl & Hyde team through the franchise’s first two games. Opening the season with a dominating 41-18 win over Regina with Mary Anne Hanson and Stephanie Manou putting on an offensive clinic. They followed up that impressive win with a loss on the road in Saskatoon 22-18 where the wheels came off of the passing game and Manou was limited to 44 yards coming off a 108 yard effort in the season opener.
