Finally, there is a ray of hope for Mayweather and Pacquiao fans. Amidst confusions and doubts regarding whether the super-bout between Filipino eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and American unbeaten fighter Floyd Mayweather, referee Tony Weeks’ statement that the fight will happen, comes as a gesture of hope.
“Of course I want to see Pacquiao-Mayweather which is the fight everybody wants to see. It’s like Ali-Frazier, Leonard-Hearns. You want to see those marquee match-ups where both fighters come in kind of even and you want to see who wins,” said Weeks, a widely respected referee.
According to Weeks, the showdown between Mayweather and Pacquiao would be ‘great’ for the sport itself.
