Lolo Jones has been a lightning rod for controversy since just before the 2012 Summer Olympics, but now she’s making headlines of a different sort. Jones is trying her hand in the world of bobsled, and she is taking to her new sport quite well.
Jones is seeking a spot as a push-athlete, and she and pilot Jazmine Fenlator finished second at the opening night of selection races on Saturday. The team posted a time of one-minute, 57.01 seconds over its first two runs. That was just 0.05 seconds behind Jamie Greubel and Aja Evans (1:56:96), who currently sit in first place.
Greubel and Evans are among the favorites, but Jones did pretty well considering it was her first attempt at the sport.
