SBRForum: Cowboys Look To Stay Above .500 Against Giants In Week 8

One thing the Dallas Cowboys did not anticipate this year was being at only .500 so early in the season. They ranted and raved about how this was their season, but it has not turned out that way thus far. They are going into an extremely tough division match up against the New York Giants this week and they need to pull out all the stops if they want to not have a losing record going into week 9. If they can get their offense up to snuff then they certainly have a shot this Sunday at Cowboys Stadium.

One of the biggest problems for the Dallas Cowboys this year has been the fact that they simply cannot get the job done on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Tony Romo has been playing consistently, save for that atrocious game against the Bears earlier in the season, but his targets have not been able to hold onto the ball. Jason Witten, while getting better over the course of the year, dropped some crucial passes early in the year that helped to get the Cowboys a huge loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Dez Bryant has been consistently inconsistent and their only real go to guy has become Miles Austin. If they cannot get this together and find a way to be a more conditioned and disciplined team, then they do not stand a chance against the defending Super Bowl champions this Sunday. If they can find a way to get on the same page, then they will have a great chance at home.

With the NFL odds putting the Cowboys at a -1 points spread on the game, this will basically come down to whichever team wins. While the Cowboys need to make a lot of adjustments throughout the week, they definitely have a chance of pulling this one out.
