“Think about your worst nightmare and multiply by five.” That’s Kansas City mayor on Chiefs GM Scott Pioli witnessing Jovan Belcher’s suicide.
Yes, a K.C. Chiefs player killed his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins in her home around 8 a.m. and then drove to the team’s practice facility where he pulled the gun on himself, and took his own life. He did this in front of Pioli and Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel.
A four year veteran, and Belcher had started 44 games since 2009. This is much more than a murder suicide, a child is also left behind in this situation as Belcher and Perkins had their first child together about a month ago.
