It has been a roller coaster ride of a season for the Dallas Cowboys, who started the season poorly but have pulled it together to win four of their last five games. Their most recent victory came at the hands of the Pittsburg Steelers, a team many thought would handily take care of America’s Team. That was not the case, however, and the Cowboys pulled out a win in overtime. They face an equally challenging match up this week when they host a New Orleans Saints team that is on the upturn. With the NFL odds putting the Cowboys at a -3 points disadvantage, this is really anyone’s game.
One of the things the Cowboys will need to stay constant with this coming week is their pass game. It was shoddy at best in the beginning of the season and many believe this is the reason they were losing so many games. Quarterback Tony Romo will need to get the ball out quick to playmakers Dez Bryant, Miles Austin and Jason Witten if they want to keep up with the onslaught that is the New Orleans Saints offense. Luckily for the Cowboys, New Orleans’ defense is one of the worst in the league and will give Dallas plenty of opportunities to score at the most opportune moments. What the Cowboys need to do is find ways to capitalize on such a weak defense when the opportunity is presented to them. If they can do this then there is no question who will be the winner this week in Dallas.
When it comes to teams that need to win out to make the playoffs, none look as hot as the Dallas Cowboys at the moment. They have a huge roadblock in front of them this coming Sunday, however, in the New Orleans Saints, so they will need to stay sharp to get the win and remain in the playoff hunt.
