If there’s one thing Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is not, it’s subtle. This guy can’t blow his nose without making an announcement, so try as he might to keep his current scheme a secret, the cat’s out of the bag. The latest batch of NFL rumors includes Jon Gruden becoming the next head coach of the Cowboys.
The signs are so obvious that it’s hard to believe it took anyone this long to figure it out. Over the past three weeks, Jones has hired/promoted Gruden’s former offensive coordinator, Bill Callahan (replacing Jason Garrett as the offensive play-caller), defensive coordinator, Monte Kiffin, and defensive line coach, Rod Marinelli. Dallas has all but signed Gruden’s former special teams coach, Rich Bisaccia, and that deal is expected to be in place by the end of the week.
