Well, that didn’t take very long now did it?
At the time of the hiring of Mike Dunlap, I mentioned that under any other circumstance you would have to be surprised by this hiring. But when Michael Jordan is involved, nothing should surprise you.
And wouldn’t you know it; Michael Jordan has made yet another move to drive that point home. That move? Firing the head coach he hired just a year ago.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Bobcats say they’ve fired coach Mike Dunlap after just one season.
The Bobcats went 21-61 under Dunlap, finishing with the second-worst record in the NBA ahead of only the Orlando Magic. Charlotte won just seven games in the strike-shortened 2011-12 season but more wins weren’t enough to save Dunlap’s job.
If you’re counting at home, this will be the Bobcats’ third coach in three seasons. Which just means that Michael Jordan does
