ESPN “analyst” Cris Carter is known for his ridiculous hyperbole. However, his comments on Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson this morning actually were rather prescient. He pretty much predicted the huge breakout game to be had this afternoon. Calvin Johnson, or Megatron as the kids call him is great at football. But when you read …

Detroit Lions’ Calvin Johnson proved he was the best wide receiver in the NFL after his amazing 2011-12 season campaign.

Detroit Lions Preview

I wrote an early Lions Preview a little while back and now after the preseason, I feel some of the questions I was wondering have been answered. This Detroit Lions team appears to be a team that will be able to compete for wins on Sunday. I do not think they are a playoff team yet, but I feel they are on the verge of becoming one. A few quality players at certain positions and the Lions will be able to compete for the division.

Dwayne Bowe

Dwayne Bowe has been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs since he was Drafted in the First Round of the 2007 Draft, 23rd pick overall. Drawing comparisons to Hines Ward, Bowe was considered one of the best WR’s available in the 2007 Draft. He went over the next two years to prove that speculation was correct, as no other player selected in the 2007 NFL Draft topped his reception tally, and in the 2007-2008, only Detroit’s WR Calvin Johnson had more receiving yards than Bowe.
