Ever since I started writing for Sports Illustrated back in 1996, I’ve had a personal love-hate relationship with its Sportsman of the Year. I was shocked by this news, in that:

A. I didn’t realize Vitali Klitschko is still heavyweight champ.

B. I couldn’t believe Briggs still commands title fights.
