Its hard to judge the first game under the Brady Hoke Era of Michigan football. It was a little like the weather at times sunny and at times nasty looking. One thing that stood out was the coaching staff making adjustments to slow down and stop the WMU offense. Overall I would give the team a B on today’s performance.

Well I’m not one that likes to toot his own horn, but toot toot. My preview was right on target and my score prediction was right on. Now only if I could get the lotto numbers right. It was another great game and very fun for fans to watch.

It’s rivalry time folks! For some reason though I believe most Michigan fans are not as concerned about this game as they are the MSU or OSU game, but its an important game none the less. Its important for both teams. Both would like to get off to a 2-0 start and set themselves up nicely for a potential bowl bid.

What to look for when Michigan has the ball

Michigan’s season got off to a nice start. The Wolverines were able to control the game against a solid UCONN team and get a 30-10 win. Michigan was able to control the game with there rushing attack. This allowed to keep a suspect Michigan defense off the field a little bit. The defense looked ok at times, but they still have plenty of work to do.

I wrote an early Lions Preview a little while back and now after the preseason, I feel some of the questions I was wondering have been answered. This Detroit Lions team appears to be a team that will be able to compete for wins on Sunday. I do not think they are a playoff team yet, but I feel they are on the verge of becoming one. A few quality players at certain positions and the Lions will be able to compete for the division.

The Minnesota Vikings undoubtedly took a blow today when reports came out that Brett Favre has informed the team he will retire. Many still feel there is a chance that he could come back because in the past he has had problems walking away from the game but I think this time its for good. He had surgery on an ankle in the off-season and it just hasn’t healed as he had hoped.

To me sports have always been more than a game. It has been something I could watch or play and just get away from the real world struggles. At a young age I took on a love for sports to get closer to my brother and father. I remember at a young age sitting there watching them play Techmo Super Bowl on the Saga Genesis and I didn’t know much about football at the time but I wanted to get in on the fun and that’s when I really started [...]

Michigan has to win this season or Rich Rodriguez will be out of a job. Michigan has a proud tradition and history and lately that has taken a hit. I’m not talking just from the winning aspect of the game but with the infractions. I really do hope it was just a mistake and not something that was done intentional but either way this was the first time Michigan has had sanctions or even been looked at in Football by the NCAA.
