Korny Storm: Should ESPN have suspended Kornheiser?

Korny Storm: Should ESPN have suspended Kornheiser?

Allow me to first clarify that I think the world of Hannah Storm. I find her to be competent, bright, articulate, entertaining, and always on top of her game. I also respect that she’s fought her way to the top (or close to it) of the male-domiminated electronic sports media industry without the benefit of [...]

The Black Mamba Returns...and Kills!

The Black Mamba Returns…and Kills!

He’d been away for 5 games…18 days, but black mambas don’t forget how to kill…

Gasol takes the inbound pass, passes it to The Black Mamba and then Gasol sets a weak (moving) screen while The Black Mamba goes the wrong way. Well, it was the wrong way to tie the game, but black mambas go for the kill, not the tie. So, it was the right way…

SJ Black History Month: Jim Brown - The Real Superman

SJ Black History Month: Jim Brown - The Real Superman

In sports, there seemingly is always some athlete who is referred to as Superman. In the NBA, we have both Shaq and Dwight Howard sharing (and debating) that title. In the NFL, former Giants LB, Lawrence Taylor (The original LT) was often monickered with that title…more as a description than a nickname.

However, in the history [...]

Dallas Cowboys: Kill Flies With Sledge Hammers!

Dallas Cowboys: Kill Flies With Sledge Hammers!

That’s what this team needs to learn how to do. That’s what they need to do to the Foreskins…just as the Giants did. I love Keith Brooking as a player, but he said something after the Saints game that gave me concern. He said something to the effect of “We thought we had them down for the count (at 24-3), but they came back”.

My concern is that sentiment more than hints that the Cowboys let up in the 2nd half…

Yet Another Taste of SJ’s Grace…Let’s help her get this HUGE job!

Grace Espinosa, an SJ family member, “2009 Hooters Girl of the Year”, recent college grad, and successful model, has been very busy…positioning herself for even more big-time success.

Welcome new Interim NBA Forum Mod: STATIC!

Welcome new Interim NBA Forum Mod: STATIC!

We’ve been looking for an NBA Forum Mod for some time. No one would come forward. So, we turned to the guy that I use to prep me for NBA segments on the radio shows…so, you know he knows the NBA.
So, in the most blatant act of nepotism in the history of SJ , we [...]

Hey, Trevor Ariza...How does my ARTEST taste?

Hey, Trevor Ariza…How does my ARTEST taste?

As a Lakers fan, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Trevor Ariza for two reasons: 1) He played a significant role in the Lakers winning the NBA Championship, and 2) He just played an even more significant role in better positioning the Lakers for a repeat in 2010.

For all intents and puposes, Ariza just traded himself to Houston in exchange for Ron Artest. Okay, so it was twin free agent moves and not a trade, but it worked out the same way. Ariza balked at the $5.6 Mil/year mid-level exception offer to stay with the Lakers (Then, “Mr Insulted” agrees to sign with the Rockets for $5.8 Mil/year…HUH???).

Venus & Serena:

Venus & Serena: “Sistahs” Are Doin’ It For Themselves

July 4th will be Independence Day here in “the colonies”, while in England, it will be Williams “Sistahs” Day. That’s the day the two dominant siblings go at each other for the Wimbledon Ladies Singles Champion title.

“Dominant”? Do I really need to explain that term as applied to “Da Sistahs”?

The Dallas Cowboys' flawed strategy of 'Romo-Friendly'

The Dallas Cowboys’ flawed strategy of ‘Romo-Friendly’

As I’ve compiled and analyzed the recent and past comments by Jerry & Stephen Jones, I get a very clear picture of the meaning of “Romo-Friendly”. That picture, however, comprises massive flaws at the core of basic organizational development and maximization. Those flaws, enveloped and empowered by the “addition by subtraction” theorem, lie in two key areas: leadership and personnel evaluation/enhancement.

Orlando Magic: Stupidness is as stupidness does

Orlando Magic: Stupidness is as stupidness does

Just before the playoffs, Shaquille O’Neal referred to Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy as “The Master of Panic”. Shaq went on to say that at some time during the playoffs, Panic-Man Stan would let the Magic down. During the Magic-Celtics series, I wrote an article in which I referred to the Magic as “the dumbest playoff team I’ve ever seen”.

Shaq, due to Van Gundy (accurately) accusing him of flopping in a game, was spewing venom. I, however, was simply making an objective statement of my several decades of watching NBA playoffs. Magic fans were pissed at both Shaq and me…well…at least the 3 Magic fans who read my article were pissed at me.However, the Magic have proved both Shaq and me to be deadly accurate.
