CJ Wilson Thanks his Fans

CJ Wilson Thanks his Fans

I thought this was pretty cool, especially since CJ Wilson is one of the few players who goes above and beyond to connect with his fans. This morning at about 5:30am CST time, he uploaded a message to his facebook account that read as follows:

I just want to say thank you to all the ranger fans who have supported me, and my efforts in the community the last six years in Texas. [...]

The Baseball Life: Midwest League Playoffs/ Attendance

The Baseball Life: Midwest League Playoffs/ Attendance

I spent this past weekend in Davenport, Iowa to watch the Quad Cities River Bandits (Cardinals, single A) play in the second round the the Midwest League Playoffs against the Kane County Cougars (Royals, single A). This past Saturday, September 10th was the first of the three game series for the second round of playoffs. The Bandits had home field advantage [...]

The Baseball Life: Perry Hill

The Baseball Life: Perry Hill

Web gems – they are easily one of the most exciting parts of the game. The footwork, quick hands, and finesse it requires to be a middle infielder ‘turning two’ may be the most poetic and graceful movement in a game of baseball. And whenever you start to think about how easy they make it look, remember the great Teddy Williams when he said, “Ballplayers are not born great…

The Baseball Life: Remembering Ron

It’s been hours now since the news of our beloved Chicago icon has hit the airwaves, and we’ve all dealt with the passing in various ways. When I first got the news, my initial thought was “I have to be at Wrigley. I have to be home.” I’ve spent the majority of today in thought – remembering Ron in his best, recounting all the times I’ve met him, and rationalizing how Wrigley will ever be the same.

Baseball: End of the Year

Baseball: End of the Year

It’s been a great season, but it’s not over yet! Chicago was not blessed with postseason baseball in 2010, so I’ve decided to spend the last weekend of the regular season at US Cellular Field for all 3 White Sox vs Indians games. If you are at any of the games, stop by and say hi!

As always, there is much more to come! I went on a postseason binge this weekend and bought a few flights [...]

The Baseball Life: Baseball Beliefs

The Baseball Life: Baseball Beliefs

This past month I’ve taken a lot of time away from the computer and television and spent it outside, mostly at ball games trying to enjoy the real elements of baseball. Coming back to internet and technology was bound to happen and in fact got hard to avoid. But, while it was away I enjoyed [...]

Royals fire Trey Hillman, hire Ned Yost

Royals fire Trey Hillman, hire Ned Yost

This morning I was listening to MLB on XM Radio (channel 175) and they had the Royals, now former manager, Trey Hillman on talking with the hosts of First Pitch. I happened to tune in right after the interview had started, so as I’m driving along the freeway listening to Hillman my mind is skipping around trying to understand what’s going on.
