It’s been hours now since the news of our beloved Chicago icon has hit the airwaves, and we’ve all dealt with the passing in various ways. When I first got the news, my initial thought was “I have to be at Wrigley. I have to be home.” I’ve spent the majority of today in thought – remembering Ron in his best, recounting all the times I’ve met him, and rationalizing how Wrigley will ever be the same.

Per the new rules filed by Major League Baseball, with approval from the players association, following yesterdays commencement of the World Series players no longer need to file for free agency, but are automatically entered. It’s been a great season, but it’s not over yet! Chicago was not blessed with postseason baseball in 2010, so I’ve decided to spend the last weekend of the regular season at US Cellular Field for all 3 White Sox vs Indians games. If you are at any of the games, stop by and say hi!

The Davey Nelson Celebrity Golf Tournament
Davey is one of the FSN broadcasters for the Milwaukee Brewers as well as a former Major Leaguer for the Indians, Senators, Rangers, and Royals. He is currently filling in for his good friend, Bob Uecker as Bob recovers from heart surgery. Davey lives and breathes the Baseball Life.

This morning I was listening to MLB on XM Radio (channel 175) and they had the Royals, now former manager, Trey Hillman on talking with the hosts of First Pitch. I happened to tune in right after the interview had started, so as I’m driving along the freeway listening to Hillman my mind is skipping around trying to understand what’s going on.
