The site does seem faster. Hard for me to say why cuz my neanderthal computer changes speeds at a whim. But as I told you before, my computers hates SJ, so I never know how the site is really moving for peeps with "real" computers.

Nice college roundball article. I would normal declare your prediction as impossible, but I've picked against the Shockers for 3 rounds now. I'd would be afraid to bet more than 12 cents against them this time.

I dunno guess we have achieved our original goal mostly by ourselves of the original vision. Does the site seem faster to you cuz the migration is done.

Yeah, I've always claimed we're awesome . Now that we know we really are , we can put some high prices on some stuff and dare companies to "Go where no one has gone before" with us LOL

Lets see what we get this month with the MDD and the higher traffic. Maybe we'll start reaping LOL I dunno I just wrote a dumb article for 60. We have 30 days to decide...the HP...like you said it's kinda like cutting off our nose to spite our face. We need it for the money. Guess we can physically put more time into finding ad space. Since we're so awesome and all.

Nice move with the notice. As for the HP...Great minds run into each other as I just posted that one consideration would be to back off external marketing. That could include the home page. Hate to have to do that, but it's gotta be considered. Although I think the HP has a brighter potential future than the forums. Another possible, albeit small option is to turn off the bots that feed forum stuff to Twitter...as those things bring in visitors. Ditto for the bots that feed the HP to Twitter & FB..but that may reduce our ability to sell ads on the HP Regardless, I will be able to split with you whatever increased costs we decide to incur. Wish we could figure out why our Cox revenue is so shitty...or find someone else, ie Google Adsense. We can talk about it all when you call.

Also the optimizations all center around wordpress so sure it'll all calm down after the draft. Other thing is let the HP go. And let the forums run their course. Something to think about.

Look like our migration is complete> Put a notice up just in case we decide to go a different direction LOL

Well we get a free month thru site 5. They don't have my current debit card on file so not like they can charge me LOL Anyway it gives a month to decide what to do and they said they'd continue to evaluate our usage.

Maybe one of us can call site5 this week they said they'd talk to us, the email thing with a different person each time is crazy and didn't think about the credit. Good thinking

1st off, I wrote Site5 & asked for a pricing clarification. The price link they gave is for VPS1, but what they migrated us to is VPS2. Still waiting for an answer, but don't expect it till tomorrow as I was late emailing them.

I spoke with Godaddy. As with all 3 hosts, our bandwidth is not the issue but our massive CPU use. Godaddy dood looked up the Site5 offerings. he says that VPS2 basic will not be enough memory & disk space. So, he thinks Site5 will have to charge us extra for such, plus a C-Panel charge...bringing the Site5 deal up to around $70/month. He says Godaddy will give us a dedicated server with 2X (2GB) the memory, more disk space/storage (60 GB) & triple (2000 GB) the bandwidth for $45/month. We could then either back-up & move everything ourselves (NOT!) or hire Godaddy techs to do it for $50/hr...estimated 1 hr to move.

More to come once we hear from Site5...

Host Gator wants to look at our cpu usage, which I dunno what that is cuz Site 5 stats use some proprietary terminology. If we don't want Gator poking around in our C-panel, then other than asking Site5, I dunno. Right now is a bad time to show we DON'T need a dedicated server as the Mock update is starting to bring extra hits.

Maybe we tell Site5 that we can afford something in the $20-$25 range and ask'em what they have to meet our mutual needs in that range. That'd be twice what we're paying them now.

Not godaddy. Well the gator hosts people just want to know what kinda traffic, usage we have. So I dunno. Site 5 is just getting antsy.

Just woke up. Gimme a bit here this morning to slow my leg down from hurting. Then I can think straight. I'll still call godaddy. Were they also talking a dedicated server?
