If you un-like that TJ-created page on regular FB, then I direct the 3rd party feed ("TwitterFeed") to that page, the only folks who would get a double post are those that are linked to both pages (as I am). By definition, that wouldn't be very many folks cuz there are only 231 Likes to that page.
There's nothing to mess with on the 3rd party feed. All I have to do is set the frequency & click 1 other button. As for the WP/HP feed, I dunno since I've never ventured into that one.
Tell ya what...I'm gonna activate the 3rd party feed. Within a coupla hours it will make/try to make a post from the HP. When it does, you can decide if you like it or not. From there, we can decide whether to mess with the WP feed or not.
The more I think about it...The HP-FB thang would at least partially explain why our ad revenue has dropped off so much of late. As you know, many of the ads are simply pay-for-exposure. So, we're now missing out on exposures to a max-potential of 5000+ FB friends. Even if only the industry average of 5% of max-potential are clicking thru, that's still a theoretical potential of 250 clicks/day that we're missing. Over a month, that's 7500 clicks...not a lot of money but over 12 months/year it adds up. And we're also losing some viral effects of FB clicks vis a' vis SEO.
I suggest that unless it's really simple and free to re-activate the WP feed to our regular page, that we at least test the 3rd-party feed. For all we know, FB could have that blocked too, but it won't hurt anything to try it.
We'll see. I have enough trouble trying to man the twitter and FB and so you do. SO just wondering if it even serves a purpose or if it sits dormant just get rid of it. It was originally a TJ project
I've never touched the direct HP feed on Wordpress. Not even sure how. I've only done the 3rd party "TwitterFeed". Again...I won't touch TwitterFeed until you've tried WP and tell me "go".
A year or so ago, FB weirdly put the block on certain exterior feeds to personal sites but not to "Pages". I haven't checked lately to see if those blocks are still in place. Separately, being mostly brain dead for the longest, I hadn't thought to check if our external TwitterFeed account can get thru to FB. I turned that connection off way back when we were get duplicate posts on FB. So, right now, that account only feeds Twitter. Lemme know if you want me to aim it at FB and see if stuff goes thru.
