DNSchanger, as its name implies, changed the DNS servers used by infected computers. It affects both Windows and Mac computers, and is even known to change the settings on routers (if the default administrator password is unchanged). This IS NOT a virus... virus programs are a type of malware, but not all malware is a virus. The difference between the two terms is that a virus is a program and malware is a categorization of malicious software. The DNSchanger is malware that does not fit in the virus catagory.

One common misconception is the thought that mac computers can’t get viruses, tied with the belief that macs are virus-proof by their very nature. The inference that they are inherently inoculated is inaccurate. If you need proof just go to ZDnet and take a look at the growing number of reports about this very thing. The truth is the Apple computer system's popularity is growing thus making it worth a cyber criminals efforts to create and distribute such a virus.

This thread was attempting to be informative and help you ppl out. Disinformative jackassery is misplaced here... sorry for my lack of sense of humor.

On the bright side, if you are reading this... your computer is okay. You may now continue your jackassery.

Yeah, at this point in time, if you're here, your computer is fine. Anyone affected has already been blocked from internet access.
