Default Violent movie scene to be cut from upcoming movie "Gangster Squad"

Repercussions of the Aurora, Colo. theater shooting continue as Variety reports that the upcoming movie "Gangster Squad" will omit a scene in which gangsters open fire on the unsuspecting audience of a crowded movie theater.

Find: 'Gangster Squad' trailer

The scene was featured prominently in the film's trailer, which ironically ran right before Thursday night's fateful screening of "The Dark Knight Rises." The trailer was pulled from subsequent screenings by Warner Bros. and now Variety reports that the studio is taking action on the film itself in consideration of the 12 people killed and dozens injured in the horrific massacre: The entire theater sequence of the movie will be cut, and reshoot plans are being put into motion.

Tell us on Facebook: Is this a good move? Or should they have left the movie alone?

Warner Bros. would not comment on the news. "Gangster Squad" is still scheduled to open in theaters Sept. 7.

For the trailer? Good move.

For the entire movie? Eh. I think people would be able to deal.

Let's just eliminate all aspects of real life from movies. No one will ever get killed, no planes will ever crash into buildings, no kids will ever be shot.

You can't have it both ways. You can't say that movies are making us insensitive to real life, and then remove things because people are too sensitive.

I absolutely hate the world we live in right now. I really wish there was truth to what people think the Mayans had predicted.

2+2=5.
