For every bowl that is set to occur, Sports Reviews will be doing a preview for the game(s) occurring each day. Today, we take a look at the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl game featuring the Boise State Broncos vs. the Arizona State Sun Devils.
The Las Vegas Bowl will be held tonight in Las Vegas, NV with a 5 p.m. PST start time. [...]
After three consecutive games in the Los Angeles Coliseum, USC will don the road jerseys for the first time in 2011. The Trojans travel to Arizona State to engage in a desert duel between teams favored to finish atop the Pac 12 south. The new look Sun Devils are looking to respond to last week’s loss at Illinois, and a victory over the postseason ineligible Trojans would allow for an early lead [...]
With their 20-19 win over Arizona State on Saturday, Wisconsin improved to 3-0 on the season for the seventh-consecutive year. The win also marked the 27th straight non-conference regular-season game they’ve won dating back to 2003. At home, Badger head coach Bret Bielema is undefeated against non-conference opponents, outscoring them by an average of 17.9 points. While Bielema [...]
Growing up, we attended a lot of Arizona State football games. My parents had two sets of season tickets. Two for them in the lower deck, and two in the upper deck that we rotated amongst us kids. I used to watch the men at the game wearing their headphones and wonder what the point was. You know the men I’m talking about. hey are wearing a set of headphones LISTENING to the game while AT the game watching the action live.[...]
Living on the West Coast, and having followed Pac 10 football for more years than I want to remember (I go back to the days of the Pac 5), I will be submitting blogs about the Pac 10 and it’s various teams. To start out, here is a quick breakdown of each team and their chances of winning the Pac 10 title this year:
Arizona: This normally defensive [...]
Every college football team has a rival; it’s as though it is a rite of passage.
Heated rivalries include an intensity that is not seen in other games, with the addition of hatred for the opposing team thrown into the mix.
The rivalry between the Arizona State University and the University of Arizona Wildcats is as [...]
I promised to avoid expansion talk this summer until there was something more than speculation on the table. I’m breaking that promise, because the latest rumor is just too juicy to resist.
The Pac 10 is prepared to invite six Big 12 schools to join the conference, according to Rivals.com and its sources. It’s not the [...]
Arizona State football schedules wouldn’t be described as anything near bold under Dennis Erickson. They’ve more often resembled one of those heavenly paths paved along the college football landscape to ensure bowl eligibility. Aside from their completion of a home-and-home series with Georgia last year, you’d be hard-pressed to find worthy out of conference opponents [...]
After a vigorous slate and less than satisfying results, the Trojans’ schedule will now serve one more for the road. USC has played five of eight games behind enemy lines, which included trips to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Cal, and Oregon. The road warriors now move to the desert to face Arizona State, where they [...]
As I was browsing through websites like I usually do at work, I came across what I believe is a cry for attention lawsuit which is also completely dumb. Former Nebraska/Arizona State QB Sam Keller is suing EA Sports and the NCAA because he thinks EA is wrongly using the names and likenesses of athletes for it’s games. The lawsuit reads that Keller is suing on behalf of all college athletes that have been portrayed in EA’s NCAA Football and Basketball games. Now, I know that everyone is having hard times due to the economy, but these two guys are a bunch of idiots. If you have played any of EA’s college games, you would know that there aren’t any names for the players.
