On Friday, we took a very early look at some National League postseason predictions, so it’s only fitting that we take a look at some early American League postseason predictions.

Has Billy Beane completely lost his mind, or is he using his “money ball” magic to rebuild the Oakland Athletics and improve on their future?
The team traded closer Andrew Bailey and outfielder Ryan Sweeney [...]
I, for one, am not happy in the slightest about the direction that the Red Sox organization are heading. The future isn’t so bright and the front office are all too blame for this! So far, this offseason they have cleaned house with the coaching staff and with some of the higher ups in the general manager’s office, they went on a managerial search that took over 2 and a half months to name a guy they already had pegged for the job, [...]
According to ESPN’s Karl Ravich, sources are saying that Gene Lamont is no longer a candidate to manage the Boston Red Sox. Ravich also then went on to say that Bobby Valentine has not been offered the job yet, but it appears “imminent.”
I wish the Red Sox would just end this already and pick a guy. This has been way too long of a process. [...]
According to this tweet from SI.com’s Jon Heyman, the Baltimore Orioles have a new general manager. (No word on whether white smoke appeared above Camden Yards.)

After what seemed like weeks of wrangling, the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs announced a deal that will send Theo Epstein to Chicago. Though the move has long been rumored, there was reportedly a hang-up over compensation. But now, on the first off-day of the World Series, the two sides came [...]
Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz spoke earlier this week about wanting to start off fresh with a new club in 2012, this according to ESPN and multiple other sources.
Ortiz will turn 36 this November and will undoubtedly have to stay in the American League, given his DH position.
Ortiz knocked in 96 RBI in 2011 and went yard on opposing pitchers 29 times [...]
It appears Terry Francona will pay for Boston’s sins. Reports have been trickling out since Thursday night that the Red Sox and their manager will part ways, and now all that’s left is the official announcement.
SI.com’s Jon Heyman is reporting that even after winning a World Series in 2004 and 2007, Francona is out [...]
What a finish to baseball’s regular season, the greatest show on dirt. That was literally the most exciting night of baseball we have ever witnessed in our entire lives. Sincerely hope you got to see at least one of these games.
The Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox polished off their respective collapses while the Tampa Bay Rays made the most [...]
Just when you thought a nice close 1-0 loss would be a decent change of pace from double-digit beatdowns, the Blue Jays made this one hurt. In more ways than one.
First is the issue that is not so much the Blue Jays’ fault. While delivering a 1-2 pitch to Brett Lawrie, who seems to make bad things happen [...]
