NFL Draft Net: Will Height Hold Back Russell Wilson in NFL Draft?

NFL Draft Net: Will Height Hold Back Russell Wilson in NFL Draft?

2012 NFL Draft prospect, Wisconsin Quarterback Russell Wilson, has many attributes that make him an attractive target for NFL scouts. The arm, mobility, leadership, and those numbers. But there is one thing that is going to hold him back, no matter how much he tries to dismiss it. Size. Five-foot, 10 1/2 inches. Sure, we [...]

“The Stack” 12-27-11

We said we’d come back from our mini-holiday vacation if something big happened in the sports world. See what it was in “the stack” for today Tuesday, December 27th which starts right now:

1. Drew Brees sets passing record in steamroll of Falcons.

Something big happened last night [...]

Shocker In St. Louis As Rams Top Saints For First Win

Shocker In St. Louis As Rams Top Saints For First Win

The Rams entered their Week 8 clash with the mighty Saints with no wins and no Sam Bradford. It turns out that it was still no sweat for St. Louis to pull one of the season’s biggest upsets and defeat New Orleans, 31-21.

Steven Jackson paced the Rams, running for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and A.J. Feeley, [...]

The Learning Curve: Ranking the NFL Divisions By Quarterback Talent

The Learning Curve: Ranking the NFL Divisions By Quarterback Talent

When it comes to football these days, it’s all about who you have under center. It’s become a passing league and for better or worse, the days of smash mouth football are over. Of course it’s better for the players health and safety, especially with all we’ve learned about concussions over just the last few years. Growing up a Bears fan, [...]

Top Ten Quarterbacks Going into the 2011 Season

Top Ten Quarterbacks Going into the 2011 Season

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have been fan favorites for years. Using the last three years statistics, and other weighted factors, it appears they are not the top of the class any more, but are still top ten. Mike Vick deserves honorable mention, but he has only recently played the last two years and I felt while he is a top ten quarterback, it is not fair to include him and handicap him…

7-9 Seattle's playoff victory is a good thing

7-9 Seattle’s playoff victory is a good thing

The Counselor is IN:

The reigning Super Bowl Champ New Orleans Saints fell to the 7-9 Seattle Seahawks in today’s playoff match. All week I continued to hear about the disgrace of the Seahawks making the playoffs. This so called disgraceful team just took down the defending champs. I believe this is actually a good thing.

Before you question my sanity, [...]

Footbasket: NFL Week 12: Saints Defeat Cowboys: Immediate Thoughts

Footbasket: NFL Week 12: Saints Defeat Cowboys: Immediate Thoughts

The New Orleans Saints defeated the Dallas Cowboys in what was a great second game on Thanksgiving Day.

While the Cowboys had a great second half and took the lead late in the fourth quarter, in the end Drew Brees had one more drive in him in order to give them the win.

Here are my immediate thoughts…

Sportsman of the Year

Sportsman of the Year

Ever since I started writing for Sports Illustrated back in 1996, I’ve had a personal love-hate relationship with its Sportsman of the Year. Sometimes, the choices have been unarguable—the women’s soccer team, Tiger Woods, Buddy Biancalana. Other times, however, I’ve wanted to rip my hair out. Brett Favre? Dwayne Wade? That Roger Federer never won the damn thing—and now it’s too late—is a shame. I mean, who was better?

G-Men's 2010 NFL QB Rankings

G-Men’s 2010 NFL QB Rankings

With the NFL season approaching faster than we think, it’s time to start looking around and in this case, ranking the NFL’s 32 starting quarterbacks. In cases where a starting quarterback may not have been decided yet, I plugged in my projected starter. When doing these rankings, I took into consideration the following: the quarterbacks [...]

Shutdown Corner: Scott Fujita knows the right way to leave a city

Shutdown Corner: Scott Fujita knows the right way to leave a city

It was heartwarming when the long-downtrodden Saints won the Super Bowl. It didn’t get any less heartwarming when Drew Brees(notes) made the media rounds in the weeks after the game, establishing himself as the sweetest and most humble man in America. Apparently, everyone on the entire team was an absolute ray of sunshine. Scott Fujita(notes), [...]
