Cries from the Crowd: Album Review: Strange Clouds by B.o.B

Cries from the Crowd: Album Review: Strange Clouds by B.o.B

Last year, B.o.B burst onto the music scene through radio hits “Airplanes” and “Nothing On You” with Bruno Mars. While those two were his most popular hits, his debut album “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” was an overall success. After that successful album and an underrated “No Genre” mixtape, expectations for B.o.B’s next album were [...]

Lupe Fiasco says no more mixtapes, album is done

At a show last night in Portland, Oregon Lupe Fiasco made two important announcements about the near future. First was one that will disappoint some fans. Lupe has said that he is done making mixtapes. His last, Friend of the People, was good so that comes as a disapointment. Don’t be too sad though Lupe [...]

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston

I was 13 in 1985, when Whitney Houston’s self-titled debut album arrived at my house as a Chanukah gift.

I knew only a little about Houston, whose song, “You Give Good Love,” was starting to get a lot of play on the radio and MTV. Like, for example, I knew that she sang like the most beautiful of birds. And I knew that her voice was unlike any I had ever heard. And I knew that the photograph of her[...]

30 Day Song Challenge

So, I’m bored (Like usual at 3:30 AM. ). Figured this might be fun. Basically you post a song a day, relating to that day’s song topic (I’ll post the list under this intro thingy). I know I did this with a couple guys here a couple months back so I’ll try and switch my list up a bit. Hopefully we can get a bunch of members from here partaking and learn a bit about each member.
Also, feel free to hop in at any time in [...]

The jury has reached a verdict in the case against Michael Jackson’s doctor. The verdict will be read at about 4 p.m. ET to allow families and other parties time to return to the courthouse.

Record Label Draft Contest/Draft

Record Label Draft Contest/Draft

Alright so I came up with an idea that I thought would be fun. We get as many people on here as we can, and then we each form our own “Record Label” and draft people into it. After we each get our group of artists(probably 7-10) we’ll vote and see who has the best.

For people who are up for drafting, we’re going to stick with anybody who’s released an album since 2000. Gonna keep it a little current. It’s going to include any genre [...]

My Thoughts On Michael Jackson-A Fan and a Critic

Michael Jackson died today.

If this had happened pre-1991, this would have been on the level of John Lennon’s or Princess Diana’s death. Hell, even Elvis. But instead of shocked and heartbroken, this feels like a different word: Surreal.

That describes the life of Michael Jackson, a kid who used to get beaten by his father at the age of five with a microphone if he screwed up.
