The Rams entered their Week 8 clash with the mighty Saints with no wins and no Sam Bradford. It turns out that it was still no sweat for St. Louis to pull one of the season’s biggest upsets and defeat New Orleans, 31-21.
Steven Jackson paced the Rams, running for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and A.J. Feeley, [...]
Lost amidst the tough loss Thursday night was news that Marques Colston reportedly suffered a shoulder injury in the loss. Head coach Sean Payton did not reveal the extent of it but news reports are now indicating it could be moderately serious. According to a tweet from Jay Glazer, Colston suffered a broken collarbone and will miss approximately four weeks. We’re still waiting on further [...]
Almost as soon as the New Orleans Saints traded back into the first round of Thursday’s first round to select Alabama running back Mark Ingram, fans and commentators alike assumed this meant the end of the Reggie Bush era in New Orleans.
Of course, Bush himself believed so too as he tweeted, now infamously, “It’s [...]
Seeing the New Orleans Saints draft Mark Ingram tonight in the NFL Draft makes you wonder- who’s out? Former Illini Pierre Thomas or Heisman Trophy* winner Reggie Bush?

The reigning Super Bowl Champ New Orleans Saints fell to the 7-9 Seattle Seahawks in today’s playoff match. All week I continued to hear about the disgrace of the Seahawks making the playoffs. This so called disgraceful team just took down the defending champs. I believe this is actually a good thing.

Here are my immediate thoughts…
Ever since I started writing for Sports Illustrated back in 1996, I’ve had a personal love-hate relationship with its Sportsman of the Year. Sometimes, the choices have been unarguable—the women’s soccer team, Tiger Woods, Buddy Biancalana. Other times, however, I’ve wanted to rip my hair out. Brett Favre? Dwayne Wade? That Roger Federer never won the damn thing—and now it’s too late—is a shame. I mean, who was better?
The Heisman Trust announced on Wednesday that the 2005 Stiff Arm Trophy will be vacated. The decision leaves the award empty for that particular college football season, and denies Vince Young the Suzette Charles path to obtain the valued hardware. The announcement came one day after Reggie Bush returned the merchandise, which also signified the [...]
As bad as this game may have seemed for the Vikings, there is plenty of silver lining. The fact that Minnesota had the opportunity to beat the defending World Champions in their home arena deep into the fourth quarter is* not too shabby. To quote Bobby Boucher from The Waterboy, my mama says in life you should always look at things from a positive light. So out of respect for mama [...]
“There was nothing he couldn’t do. You couldn’t say he could do this but not do that. He could rush the passer. He could play the run. He could drop into coverage. He could do all those things.” – Jim Mora, former coach
Jackson entered the league in 1981 as a 2nd round pick (51st overall) of the New Orleans Saints, and immediately made an impact.
