I’m sure Roger Clemens loves it when people call him Big Poppa, but I always figured The Rocket to be more of a Brooks & Dunn guy.
However on Tuesday, Clemens evoked Biggie Smalls in federal court in an effort to save himself some chedda/scrilla/dough. The seven-time Cy Young winner asked a federal judge to order the U.S. to pay his attorneys’ fees for his perjury trial, which was [...]
When one speaks with softball superstar and sports media megabrand Jennie Finch, the self-assurance of her retirement decision is evident.
She’s the anti-Brett Favre; and the antithesis of Roger Clemens. There’s almost no chance she would change her mind and comeback, but even if she did, there wouldn’t be a press conference each pre-season. Her Chicago [...]
Dearest BLB readers,
I just had to take a moment to ask your thoughts on Roger Clemens being indicted. Do you think he’s delusional enough to believe that he never used anything? Do you think he’ll go to prison? It comes with the territory of subjectiveness. This isn’t mathematics, where an equation either works or doesn’t. Reactions to writing are 100-percent opinion. Some love, some hate, some are indifferent. It is what it is.
That said, I hate—hate—hostile reviews.
So this morning Roger Clemens decided to celebrate the release of the new book, American Icon: The Fall of Roger Clemens and the Rise of Steroids in America’s Pastime, by breaking his lengthy silence to appear on Mike & Mike, ESPN’s wildly popular morning radio show (that also airs on ESPN2).
A dumber decision has rarely been made.
Before today, American Icon was languishing on Amazon, hovering from anywhere between 1,000 to 4,000, looking like yet another steroid-related book that would come and go without much thought.
