After another week of SEC action, Alabama is still the best team in the league and it’s still not really close.  But what else did we learn from last week’s games?  I personally believe we learned a lot as the puzzle continues to unfold.  Kentucky is clearly the worst team in the league while the …

SEC Spotlight

As I watched the opening weekend of college football unfold, one thing really stuck out: the SEC is top heavy.  Alabama is once again the team to beat and the others fall in line somewhere beneath them.  The shocking revelation was just how far down some of the other teams are in comparison to ‘Bama. …

Former Arkansas, Michigan St. coach John L. Smith gets a new gig

John L. Smith is one of the most colorful characters in college football. Unfortunately, he’s now at a much lower rung in the sport. What I knew & Thought I knew – December Edition

What I knew:

~ I knew Oklahoma would play Nebraska in the Big XII CCG and win. Nuff Said!

~ I knew Florida would not be very good this season. YOU can not lose a player like Tebow and just move forward like he was just another player. And Urban Meyer hopefully will never try the “basketball shot” pass [...]

What We Learned: College Football’s Week 13

We may have seen the last of Chris Peterson at Boise State.

After Boise State was upset by Nevada in overtime Friday, I wonder if this will be the last season Chris Peterson coaches at Boise State. He has taken Boise State to highs that they will not see again. The media is already against them, so they won’t be ranked as high anymore. The other thing worth mentioning is that Boise State opens the season against a loaded[...]

What I knew AND What I thought I knew

What I knew:

~ I knew Arkansas was a top SEC team this year. The defense has been in question. Behind LSU and Auburn, Arkansas is the 3rd/4th best team in the SEC.

~ I knew Oregon State was a joke this year. I have been saying it all season and it is true. They may be the 7th best team in the PAC 10 at best.

~ I knew Texas and Florida would not…
